Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital Guild Donates Equipment
The Kelsey Hospital Guild recently showed its unflagging support of excellent medical care by contributing funds for updated equipment to the hospital. “Over the past several months, the Guild voted unanimously to purchase a Wii gaming system for the Long Term Care residents, a pulse oximeter for the respiratory therapy department, a pediatric papoose board and blanket warmer for the new and expanded Lena Rader Emergency department, a roll-away bed for use on the acute care unit and two flat screen televisions for the new sleep lab,” reports Kim Carr, Director of Administrative & Environmental Services.
“We are so grateful for the tireless efforts and generous donations that our Guild members give to meet the needs of our patients and community,” remarks Brian Brasser, Chief Operating & Chief Nursing Officer.
“The contributions of the Guild have been huge, particularly in support of our new expansions. The Guild allows us to do so much more for our patients and have always supported our educational requests for clinical staff, which is so important in a rural setting,” states Denise Brock, RN, Director of Nursing.
New Guild officers were recently elected and lost no time in showing their dedication and support to Kelsey Hospital and its mission. New officers include Ruth Schottle, Chairperson; Linda Baird, Vice Chairperson; Kim Carr, Secretary; and Lee Wood, Treasurer. “All of the officers and members of the Guild passionately give of their time, talents and treasures to be certain that the patients at Kelsey Hospital receive the best care possible,” says Brasser.
