Spectrum Health Launches Patient Loan Financing Program

July 13, 2020

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., July 13, 2020 – Spectrum Health announced the introduction of an alternative payment program providing patients and families an additional option for paying medical bills.

Spectrum Health has partnered with Commerce Bank to offer Health Services Financing (HSF®), a program that allows patients to pay their out-of-pocket balances over time with no interest.

With high deductible insurance plans on the rise and consumers paying a greater percentage of out-of-pocket health care costs, Spectrum Health wants to help patients make health care decisions with less worry about the repayment for their care.

“We don’t want patients to have to worry about how they’re going to pay their bill when seeking care,” said Crystal Lang, manager, corporate billing, Spectrum Health. “We want them to focus on healing and getting better, which is why it was so important to provide workable solutions and options.”

Based on the patient’s needs and outstanding balances, Spectrum Health can offer extended payment arrangements up to 60 months interest free.

Patients and families are eligible for HSF® regardless of whether they have insurance, and without requiring a credit check. There are no set-up fees, charges or penalties for early payoffs, and patients can consolidate charges to one account with one monthly payment.

For additional information about the HSF® program, contact the Spectrum Health business office at (833) 261-4563.
