Spectrum Health Media Advisory – ALL CLEAR

All clear. The bomb squad has given the all clear on the suspicious package at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. Barclay Avenue is open and all hospital activities are returning to normal.

At 9:30 a.m. Spectrum Health security services identified a suspicious package outside Butterworth Hospital. Immediately the Grand Rapids Police Department was notified and the bomb squad responded. Spectrum Health is taking every precaution necessary to ensure patient safety. At this time, we have been told by the bomb squad no patients need to be evacuated. Employees in the immediate area have been relocated. The emergency department is still open and patient care is continuing as normal.
