Spectrum Health Medical Group Holds Free Fall Sports Clinics
Specialists Available Each Saturday Morning
High school football season officially starts tonight in West Michigan, offering both fun and some health risks to student athletes.
Despite safety precautions, sprains, strains, bruises, fractures and concussions are common in football and other fall sports. The Spectrum Health Medical Group sports medicine team is holding a Fall Sports Injury Clinic every Saturday morning starting this week from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
The clinic will offer complimentary screening for middle school and high school athletes who have experienced recent injuries. Patients at the clinic will have direct access to x-rays and other imaging services and durable medical equipment, such as braces and crutches. While the screening is free, standard charges will apply if any diagnostic screening, bracing or other treatments are necessary. Walk-ins are welcome and no appointments are necessary.
