Spectrum Health Medical Group names David Ottenbaker Associate Chief Medical Officer
David Ottenbaker, MD, has been named associate chief medical officer for Spectrum Health Medical Group (SHMG).
“Dr. Ottenbaker will be responsible for providing strategic and managerial direction as Spectrum Health Medical Group continues to expand our services throughout the region,” said James Tucci, MD, MMM, president, Spectrum Health Medical Group. “Dr. Ottenbaker’s experience and success as a physician made him an exceptional and ideal candidate for this new leadership position.”
Dr. Ottenbaker has most recently been serving as interim primary care department co-chief for SHMG. His career has included many leadership roles both at SHMG and, earlier, at mmpc. Dr. Ottenbaker also served as president of Horizon Medical Group before that group joined mmpc.
Dr. Ottenbaker earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and the Michigan State Medical Society.
Dr. Ottenbaker will continue seeing patients at his family medicine practice in Grand Haven.
