Spectrum Health Medical Group Names General Counsel

Spectrum Health Medical Group has named Thomas J. McGraw, as its new general counsel.

Tucci, MD, MMM, president, Spectrum Health Medical Group. “His extensive experience in all areas of health care law makes him uniquely qualified for this position.”

McGraw’s responsibilities include Spectrum Health Medical Group transactions, policy development, compliance, contract negotiations and governance. McGraw, who assumes his new role on April 18, comes to Grand Rapids from Dykema Gossett Health Care Practice Group in Detroit.

McGraw has over 25 years of legal experience, earning his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Wayne State University School of Law. McGraw served on the legal Subcommittee of Governor Jennifer Granholm’s Detroit Heath Care Stabilization Workgroup. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Michigan. He is currently chairperson of the Substantive Law Committee and a member of the governing council of the State Bar of Michigan, Health Care Law Section.

McGraw has received several honors, including being named among the top lawyers in the state and nation.

The Spectrum Health Medical Group employs more than 90 physicians and mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
