Spectrum Health Medical Group Opens New Holland Facility
Public Open House, Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Scheduled

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 9, 2012 – Spectrum Health is inviting the public to get their first look at the new Spectrum Health Medical Group facility at 588 E. Lakewood Boulevard in Holland.

A public open house will be held on Tuesday, April 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony and VIP tours will be held at 3 p.m. the same day. The facility will officially open to patients on Monday, April 16.

The new two-story facility is 58,000 square feet and was designed to house Spectrum Health Medical Group offices that previously existed in the community, as well as new services. Spectrum Health hopes to use the Holland design as the template for future new or renovated facilities.

“This facility was designed to enhance the patient experience,” said James M. Tucci, MD, president, Spectrum Health Medical Group. “Our patients won’t have to travel from location to location if additional health services are needed. We have pulled our providers together under one roof to provide a seamless connection in a state-of-the-art facility.”

Local physicians are looking forward to their new offices.

“This new facility will help us care for our patients in a beautiful environment that brings health resources to them, instead of requiring them to seek them out,” said Brett Zimmerman, DO, Spectrum Health Medical Group. “It also helps us as providers because our colleagues are nearby and easily available for consultation when needed.”

Medical services at the new pavilion will include:

  • Audiology
  • Diabetes and Endocrinology
  • Foot and Ankle
  • Gastroenterology
  • General Surgery
  • Imaging Services

The new facility was built on a designated Brownfield site. It was designed by Integrated Architecture for potential LEED certification and was constructed by Elzinga & Volkers.
