Spectrum Health Names Chief Human Resource Officer Roger Jansen Responsible for Systemwide Human Resources
Spectrum Health has announced that Roger Jansen, PhD, has been named senior vice president and chief human resource officer of the Spectrum Health System. He began his position August 8.
He is responsible for the oversight of systemwide human resource functions. This includes the successful implementation of human resource initiatives supporting the business plans, core values and missions for Priority Health, Spectrum Health Medical Group and Spectrum Health Hospital Group.
Jansen came to Spectrum Health from ThinkWise, Inc., where he served as CEO. ThinkWise is a Grand Rapids based company focused on organizational learning, consulting and technology. He also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from previous positions as a corporate psychologist, psychological consultant, clinical psychologist and founder of a software company.
Jansen earned his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and a master’s and doctorate in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Spectrum Health is a not-for-profit health system in West Michigan offering a full continuum of care through the Spectrum Health Hospital Group, which is comprised of nine hospitals including Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, a state of the art children’s hospital that opened in January 2011, and 180 service sites; the Spectrum Health Medical Group and West Michigan Heart, physician groups totaling more than 600 providers; and Priority Health, a health plan with 625,000 members. Spectrum Health is West Michigan’s largest employer with more than 17,800 employees. The organization provided $115.9 million in community benefit during its 2010 fiscal year. In 2011 and 2010, Spectrum Health was named a Top 10 Health System by Thomson Reuters.
