Spectrum Health Offers Opportunity to Donate Blood

Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital will be offering an opportunity to donate blood on Thursday, February 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Walk in appointments are available or you may call 231-832-4090 if you prefer to make an appointment. The donation process will be held on the lower level of the hospital in the cafeteria conference rooms. The hospital is located at 300 North Patterson Road in Reed City.

First time donors at either site are more than welcome. Any healthy person 16 years of age with written consent from a parent or older who weighs 110 lbs. or more may be eligible to give blood every 56 days. With the cold weather upon us, traffic accidents are up and the need for blood is increased. The entire donation process (registration, a brief health screening, blood collection, and time for refreshments) takes approximately 45-60 minutes. It takes only about 10 minutes to collect your blood. Don’t wait – give the gift of life this month!
