Spectrum Health Primary Care Services Receives Governor’s Award of Excellence for Third Consecutive Year
Spectrum Health Primary Care’Partners has been honored by the state for the third year in a row for their quality improvement efforts.
The “Governor’s Award of Excellence” honors the primary care physician offices in Michigan that are actively engaged in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives to enhance patient care.’ Award winners focused their quality improvement efforts in the areas of preventive care and chronic disease management during 2007.
“These award recipients are committed to providing Michigan citizens with high quality health care,” said Governor Granholm.

The Governor’s Awards recognize quality improvements in a number of clinical areas that are designated as national health care priorities by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. These topics include preventive care, diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and cancer screening. Primary Care Partners has received the Governor’s Award every year since 2005. Other Spectrum Health entities also have received the quality awards since they were established in 2003.

Spectrum Health has earned more than 50 national awards during the past 10 years.
