Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital Names Volunteer of the Year
Dedicated, professional, and compassionate. These are just a few words hospital staff used to describe the 2009 Volunteer of the Year. Sheila Teesdale has volunteered in the outpatient surgery department for nearly two years. She transports patients, offers families coffee and food, and support the staff in many ways. “Sheila is always cheerful and makes everyone she comes in contact with feel as if they are the most special person in the world,” says Teri Laster, RN.
Sheila is well known in the Reed City community, as she volunteers for her church, is a member of the Red Hat Society and rides her bike hundreds of miles every summer. Before coming to Reed City, Sheila had a long career with the federal government in Washington DC, serving the state department. Sheila was awarded Volunteer of the Year during the hospital’s National Volunteer Week Appreciation Lunch on April 20, 2009.
