Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital Recognizes Dr. Thomas Campana

Dr. Campana, a surgeon in the General Surgery department was named the 90 Club Hero for month of April. The Hero award recognizes caregivers through a story of exceptional service as told by a fellow peer or patient.’

Dr. Campana is being recognized because of the exceptional impact he had on one family’s life.’ The grandson of one of Dr. Campana’s patients shared his experience after his grandfather was admitted through the Emergency Room to undergo surgery, “He (Dr. Campana) was very positive and took time to explain the procedure as well as listen to my grandfather and family with all our concerns from past history.’ He never seemed irritated or rushed when family members would ask the same questions over and over’he would answer them like it was the first time he has been asked.”‘ Dr. Campana even took the time to visit the patient at his home after he was discharged to make sure he was recovering well.’
