Spectrum Health to Hold ‘Same Day Hire’ Event at West Michigan Works!

Open interviews for nutrition services and environmental services positions

Grand Rapids, Mich., Jan. 6, 2020 – Spectrum Health will hold a ‘same day hire’ event Thursday, January 9, at West Michigan Works! from 1-4 p.m.

The event includes open interviews for more than 50 full-time and part-time positions in the areas of nutrition services and environmental services. Full-time and part-time positions at 20 hours per week or more offer benefits, including medical, dental, vision and tuition reimbursement. The starting wage is $12/hour.

Same day hire events simplify the hiring process by providing on-site, same day interviews and immediate hires.

“Selected applicants can get hired and onboarded on the spot,” said Eric Van Duren, director of system talent acquisition at Spectrum Health. “So, make sure to apply online in advance of the event and to bring your resume.”

The jobs include room service, wayfinding, cleaning, cooks, cashiers, tray delivery and others. No health care experience is required, and on-site training is provided.

“These service positions are the foundation of our organization, providing tasks essential to the day-to-day operations of our health system,” said Kevin Vos, senior director of hospitality support services at Spectrum Health. “They also provide employees a foot in the door and the opportunity to advance within the organization.”
