Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital to Host Community Flu Clinics
ZEELAND, MI – September 18, 2017 – According to the Center for Disease Control, the best way to prevent the seasonal flu is to get vaccinated every year. Beginning this month, Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital will be holding community flu clinics on-site at the hospital.
“Those with the highest risk for serious flu complications are young children, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes or heart and lung disease, and people 65 years of age and older,” said Pat Van Omen, infection preventionist, Zeeland Community Hospital. “If possible, you should get the flu vaccination by the end of October for the most effective results.”
Flu clinics will be held in the conference rooms of the DeWitt Professional Office Building at Zeeland Community Hospital. The dates and times are the following:
- Friday, September 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Friday, October 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday, October 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
During the community clinics, vaccinations are available for individuals ages 5 and older. The fee is $55 and direct billing is available for participating insurance providers. For more information or additional clinic locations, visit spectrumhealth.org/flu.
