Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital Offers Nutrition Series in 2016

ZEELAND, Mich., – January 11, 2016 – Have you ever considered starting a plant based diet? Come to Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital on Monday, January 25 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as we kickoff our nutrition series with The Plant-Based Diet Class No. 1. The class will cover the basics about the diet including what it is, how it meets nutrition needs and what can be eaten. A follow-up presentation will be held on Monday, February 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. demonstrating food preparation and taste-testing for a plant based diet with The Plant-Based Diet Class No.2.

This will be the first presentation in a six-part nutrition series offered to the community. Other series topics will include smart shopping at the grocery store, fad diet fallacies, healthy habits for kids and families and diabetes prevention.

The series is led by registered dietitian nutritionists, and is for people of all ages. Classes often include food demonstrations and taste-testing. The fee is $10 per person; $15 per couple for each session.
