Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital Receives 2017 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Ambulatory Surgery
ZEELAND, Mich., November 1, 2017 – Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital is pleased to announce it has been named a 2017 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have consistently achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in patient experience.
The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year.
The surgery team at Zeeland Community Hospital has recently made several process improvements that led to this honor. These changes include one patient to one nurse ratios, warm hand-offs, increased patient privacy, personalized welcoming white boards in each room, addressing patient’s biggest concern and offering healthy snacks.
“We are very proud of this award and the efforts of the entire surgery team,” said Ron Lewis, FACHE, President, Zeeland Community Hospital. “Delivering safe, personalized and patient-centered care is a top priority for us and this award validates why our community has learned to count on and trust us during life’s most crucial moments.”
According to Lewis, the award represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the patient experience.
“We are proud to partner with Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. “This award is a testament to the organization’s leadership in delivering patient-centered care.
