Speech Language Pathologist joins Zeeland Outpatient Rehabilitation Office

Kelsey Bolks, M.A., CCC-SLP, Speech and Language Pathologist

ZEELAND, MI, August 18, 2020—Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital is pleased to welcome Kelsey Bolks, M.A., CCC-SLP, Speech and Language Pathologist, to the Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital Adult Rehabilitation team located at 8333 Felch St. in Zeeland. She will be providing adult speech, language and swallowing services, which are new to the Zeeland Community Hospital location.

“We are excited to welcome Kelsey to the outpatient rehabilitation team,” said Kristen Morrison, Manager, Outpatient Rehabilitation. “Adult speech and language therapy and video swallow studies are a great addition to the services we currently offer at our Zeeland office. This gives our community even more options for local, high-quality rehabilitation so they may return to the activities they love.”

Kelsey obtained her Master of Arts degree in Speech Language Pathology from Calvin University in Grand Rapids. She has spent her career working for various adult inpatient and outpatient practices in Florida, Oregon and Colorado. She recently joined Spectrum Health Outpatient Rehabilitation at Pennock Hospital in January, 2020 and will be seeing patients at both the Pennock and Zeeland rehabilitation offices.

Kelsey’s clinical interests include treating speech, language and swallowing disorders. She is certified in MBSImP (Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile), Vital Stimulation and LSVT LOUD for Parkinson’s.

“I look forward to working alongside the wonderful physical therapist and occupational therapists at the Zeeland Rehab location,” said Kelsey. I am excited that we are now able to offer adult outpatient video swallow studies to avoid area residents from traveling into Grand Rapids. This clinic is full of potential and I can’t wait to start meeting the rehabilitation needs of those in this community.”
