STAR 105.7 Radiothon to Help Support Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is Success

The 2009 STAR 105.7 Think Outside Yourself radiothon raised more than $274,000, a $50,000 increase over last year’s event, to support programs and services at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. The three-day event included pledges from 1,109 individuals. The radiothon was also supported by seven sponsorships.

“We are humbled by the generosity of our community,” said Vicki Weaver, president, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Funds raised during the radiothon will help support children during vulnerable times in their lives. Our child life program and Center for Child Protection are funded solely through philanthropy and without generous donors the services wouldn’t be available.”

“The entire STAR 105.7 team including general manager Tim Feagan and personalities Tommy, Brook, Kelly and Tony made this event possible,” added Weaver. “It’s wonderful to partner with another organization so focused on families. We are so appreciative for their tireless effort to make a difference in the lives of children and families.”
